Garcia Design Associates was founded in 2006 by Carl G. Garcia, a registered State of California Landscape Architect. In the past twelve years as a landscape professional Carl has designed, prepared construction documents, provided custom details and design solutions, managed project processes, mediated community input meetings, and provided construction administration and observation for the majority of the projects in which he has been involved. His experience in, and involvement with public agencies and other landscape architecture firms has provided Carl with valuable insight and practical experience on a broad scale. Working on a wide variety of projects has helped develop an awareness of key design issues and a practical knowledge of site planning and design. Carl has a clear understanding of the complexities for project approval and employs a realistic approach to accomplishing project goals.

Carl has very substantial knowledge in the areas of water conservation, sustainable design and green building practices, with disabled accessibility being a key area of his professional strength. His personal ideology is that every aspect of the public realm should be considered as an accessible space to persons with disabilities. It is goals such as this, as well as the desire to continually build upon the fundamentals and principles of Landscape Architecture, that influence each project that Carl undertakes. A graduate of California State Polytechnic University at Pomona with his BS in Landscape Architecture, Carl is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and an Allied member of the American Institute of Architects, Inland California Chapter.

Andrea I. Garcia is responsible for the firm’s financial and marketing aspects. She is the former editor of the AIA Inland California Chapter’s newsletter and continues to serve as a graphic and editor consultant to the Chapter and several of its members. Andrea is also a past editor of AIA Los Angeles’ LA Architect, the International Interior Design Association Southern California Chapter’s newsletter, the American Society of Interior Designers Los Angeles and Orange County Chapters’ newsletters, and several interior design and building magazines including interior expressions and California Structures. Andrea is also an Allied member of AIAIC and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona in English.
